Photo Gallery | PHOTOS: Cutest K-9 Of The Week

Meet this week's "Cutest K-9," Fonzie , a 4-year-old Labrador retriever who lives in Germantown, Md.

Not only is Fonzie handsome, but also heroic! This lovable yellow Labrador retriever is a certified FEMA search and rescue dog, and trained to find live human scent in disaster scenarios like hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and man-made disasters.

Fonzie is one of 271 dogs in the world that are certified to his level of expertise, and is a member of FEMA’s Maryland Task Force 1.

Fonzie lives with a career fire fighter, and her family, but also works side by side with her at Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Station 29 in Germantown, Md.

Aside from being simply adorable, Fonzie is the perfect man. He shows perpetual patience and gentleness. He is strong, but adores affection, both giving and getting, and has nerves of steel.

He can climb a mean ladder (up and down), is a champion at playing fetch, and is an excellent swimmer (watch out Michael Phelps).

Fonzie lives to work. Nothing makes him happier than climbing through rubble, and finding lost victims.

This brave Labrador retriever is our sixth featured K-9. Every Friday, we will feature one adorable dog. Do you think your dog has what it takes to be named your neighborhood's cutest K-9? If so, then we want to hear from you!

Send your photos to wusa-webproduction@wusa9.com where we will vote on the cutest pup.

Your four-legged friend could have the chance to be featured on our website.

Good luck, and we hope you have a paw-tastic Friday!
