Prince George's County Public School System Going Virtual

Prince George's County is adding a brand new element to their education system.  Prince George's County Public School students will soon be able to take classes online.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 14th, the 60 juniors and seniors that sign up first will learn subject matter both in the classroom as well as on the internet.

"It'll be a great benefit ... not having to report to a physical campus," said Agnes Brown-Jones, the principal at Annapolis Road Academy in an interview with Megan McKeever of Gazette.Net. "Anything we can do that increases the likelihood of getting your diploma is a good thing."

This is the first internet oriented initiative that the Prince George's County Public School system has undertaken.

Additionally, parents will be able to view their children's grades online.  The grades will be updated weekly or even daily.
