Photo Gallery | Hummer Catches Fire On The Beltway

FORESTVILLE, Md. (WUSA) -- A driver in Maryland made a narrow escape when a Hummer burst into flames on the Beltway early Friday morning.

Maryland State Police officials tell 9 NEWS NOW they received a report of a vehicle fire on the Beltway at Pennsylvania Avenue around 12:21 a.m. Troopers arriving on scene found an EMS unit had already stopped to help the driver and they were able to put out some of the fire. The Prince George's County Fire Department had to put out a second round of flames that ignited a short time later.

Police say no one was injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
