Man wanted for sexually assaulting 12-year-old girl

FORESTVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police are asking for help identifying a man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Forestville Wednesday morning.

County police released surveillance video of the suspect Wednesday.

According to police, the man followed the victim into an elevator inside a building on the 2100 block of Brooks Drive. When the girl got off the elevator, the man forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. He then ran away, police say.

The suspect is described as a 17 to 22 year old black male. He's between 5-feet 6-inches and 5-feet 9-inches with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo on his left forearm. The suspect has a tattoo of the word "blessed" on his neck as well as a tattoo of a star on each shoulder, all believed to be in black ink. He also has a birthmark or scar on his face, police said.

Detectives say they'll canvas the area of the 2100 block of Brooks Drive Thursday evening.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact the CID Sexual Assault Unit at (301) 772-4908. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.
