Victoria Sanchez of Victoria Sanchez Interiors in Alexandria, VA, www.victoriasanchezinteriors.com, was inspired by her own children for the design of Space 21, the Teenager’s Getaway. “I looked to their likes and dislikes, and their wants and desires as I created this design,” says Sanchez, who is excited to part of the Design House but also knows the amount of work that had to be completed in a short period of time.

Improve Your Home Now With Expert HGTV Host

According to HGTV's "Curb Appeal" host, Sasha Andreev, owning a great home starts with a great first impression. It's all about what your house looks like from the outside.

Whether you live in a suburban home or a more urban environment, HGTV’s hit show “Curb Appeal” can provide great ideas to make the most of your home’s appearance at a low-cost.

I caught up with Sasha Andreev at the 3-day Washington Home & Garden Show happening this weekend at the Washington Convention Center, where he provided me with a few simple and inexpensive ways to transform outdated homes and liven up the outside of your house to create that coveted "curb appeal."

His suggestions include:

1. Add color to your front door. This is especially important if you are trying to sell your house. Paint the door a brighter color than your home, don't let it blend in with the rest of the trim.
