FORESTVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County is running its annual snow and ice practice run, BEFORE we actually get some winter weather.
Friday, we caught up with Public Works crew members at their starting point in Forestville.
The new acting director of the department, Daryl Mobley, talked to us about the annual dry run so crews can practice, gear up and test equipment.
"What's going to happen today is we'll have about 400 employees out driving the roadways, testing their equipment, making sure that the plows are operational, making sure the salt spreaders are working properly and also we're checking -- testing our AVL system, our automated vehicle load system. The Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation wants to be prepared for any weather event that will occur," said Mobley.
